Seven ways to fill your soul cup this Valentine’s Day

Are you tired of feeling overwhelmed and not sure what to do or how to feel happy anymore? Do you feel lost? Well, I have been there and still have days where I feel this. I think this is normal. Can it be a good thing to feel as if you want more but not sure what that is? You BET it is! Wanting more is a great sign you are evolving and you are ready for more growth.

Because life can be overwhelming and stressful at times it’s hard to know where to start in feeling happy. Here are seven ways you can fill your soul cup today. I invite you to choose one to start with and see how it feels in your body. Our bodies will tell us everything we need to know. They are the best guidance system we can have once we learn how to tune into it.

A key to really feeling joy within is taking one-degree shifts in moments. Asking yourself, what is the next best loving thing I need for me right now? Here are seven key foundational tools that have helped support me in my journey.

1. **Mindfulness Meditation:** Start your day with a few minutes of mindfulness meditation. Sit comfortably, close your eyes, and focus on your breath. Notice the sensations in your body and let go of any racing thoughts. And if you can’t let go of the thoughts, stay with them. Meditation is about staying with yourself even when it’s hard and you want to distract yourself by scrolling on the phone or rummaging through the fridge. Feeling our feelings is hard. This practice can help calm your mind and cultivate inner peace one small shift at a time. Start with a short 5-minute guided meditation and tell yourself you will sit through it no matter how much you want to get up and do something else. No matter how much you are not even listening to the sounds. Perhaps your mind wanders and stays focused on what is consuming you. Allow that. Be with that. Tomorrow do the same thing. And then the next day. This is a great way to train your mind that you are in control and you can do this.

2. **Creative Expression:** Set aside time for creative expression, whether it's painting, writing, dancing, or playing music. Engaging in creative activities allows you to tap into your innermost emotions and express yourself freely. It also connects us with the feminine creative energy that helps us to feel in flow and connected to our body and intuition.

3. **Connection with Nature:** Spend time outdoors and connect with the natural world. Take a walk in the park, a hike, or simply sit under a tree and soak in the beauty around you. Nature has a way of grounding us and reminding us of our place in the universe. I remind myself when I’m starting to feel overwhelmed to step outside look up and take deep breaths. It reminds me that the world is so much bigger than what I can see right now. The universe is infinite, just like the miracles that are coming to you now. This helps us to feel what we cannot yet see.

4. **Gratitude Practice:** Cultivate an attitude of gratitude by keeping a gratitude journal. Each day, write down three things you’re grateful for. Focusing on the positive aspects of your life can shift your perspective and fill your heart with appreciation. This one alone has shifted my life. What we focus on grows and multiplies. There is a quote by Tony Robbins that says “ You can’t be angry and grateful simultaneously.” Gratitude is the solution to anger and fear as well as manifesting and creating the life you want and deserve. Are you disgusted with your job, partner, in-laws, a friend? Practice writing in a journal things you are grateful for with them. The energy WILL shift.

5. **Self-Care Rituals:** Treat yourself to regular self-care rituals that nourish your body, mind, and soul. Take a long bath with essential oils, indulge in a spa day, or curl up with a good book and a cup of tea. Prioritizing self-care shows yourself the love and attention you deserve. Ask yourself, what is the next best loving thing I need right now? We have strong inner guidance within our bodies. Asking yourself this question will strengthen the trust and connection you have with yourself.

6. **Meaningful Connections:** Surround yourself with supportive and uplifting people who lift you up and inspire you to be your best self. Cultivate meaningful connections with friends, family, and community members who share your values and passions. Do you feel like you can be unapologetically yourself around your tribe? Do they bring out the worst or the best in you? Do your values align?

7. **Learning and Growth:** Feed your curiosity and thirst for knowledge by engaging in lifelong learning. Take up a new hobby, enroll in a class, or attend a workshop on a topic that interests you. Embracing opportunities for growth keeps your mind sharp and your soul engaged. If you had no concerns with fears, anxiety, or money what would you like to do or try out? You may surprise yourself with this one. The key is to just try it out. Trying something out is like stepping onto the next stepping stone in front of you. It brings you forward. You may not do this thing forever. It’s guiding you to feel joy in the moment and that joy will inspire you to try something else always guiding you towards what’s in your highest good.

Remember filling your soul cup is not a one-time event but an ongoing practice. Make time for these nourishing activities regularly and notice how they positively impact your overall well-being. By prioritizing your inner fulfillment, you’ll cultivate a deeper sense of joy, purpose, and contentment in you’re life. I know that life it can feel overwhelming with where to begin and the desire to see results that lead to more joy. I promise you it will come. For now, ask yourself what do you need in this moment. And do that.

I believe in you.

Keep shining,
